  • About Me
Nanjing is a very big city. To travel one and another district it cost us a lot of time and energy, plus the money we spend for the transportation cost since a lot of foreigner have no bike or even car. Imagine if in some cases you want go to a place that quite far from your apartment due to a meeting but you wake up late and cannot find taxi on your way? Well, this kind of thing happens sometimes. Life give shit. But, Since we have this thing called Metro in Nanjing, say no more to slow mobility.

Can you tell me what is Metro? So metro or in Chinese you call it Ditie (地铁) is actually a Local Train that connects all parts in Nanjing. It is some kind like MRT in Jakarta if you ask but with older age. As we know all the people in China have high mobility and this Transportation helps a lot, not only to minimize time and cost, but also to save the earth, and reduce traffic jam. This is also become the most transportation that I use (beside Hello Bike) so far.

HOW TO TAKE THE TRAIN?

So let me introduce you with Nanjing Metro. The picture bellow is the Nanjing Metro map. Nanjing Metro. It has 20 line (Route):
  1. Line 1
  2. Line 2
  3. Line 3
  4. Line 4
  5. Line 10
  6. Line S1
  7. Line S3
  8. Line S7
  9. Line S8
  10. Line S9

And it has 13 Transfer stations (The station that connect to the other line). Quite big, huh?. Actually there are some of the line that still under the construction so it must be getting bigger, and more complicated than this.

First, before you take the train, you should buy a card in the vending machine. A card can only be use for a person.

The price of card:
- RMB 50 = US$7.135 / Rp. 100,403.- (Not including the balance)
So if you want to directly use the card after purchasing you need to top up. The card and the balance can be paid either with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or Cash with minimum purchase of RMB 20.

Next, after buying the card, time to check in. Before check in you need to know the location that you are going to visit, because it defines the line you will take. if you need help to know your direction of metro, you can download the application for Metro, MetroMan (and I hope sooner or later I could write about this app in my blog too).

What is the importance of check in and check out, if you ask?. So check in means putting up your start point. After you finish to take the train and about to exit the station, you will check out, and some amount of money will be reduced in your card, depends on how long the distance you take on this train. That's how they determine the price that we should pay when we take the train.

And done, everyone. Enjoy your ride. its easy, right? You don't need to spend a lot of time and money, and also energy to go somewhere with metro. Just as simple as tapping your card and go. But, hey guys. Doesn't mean this train is the goddess of all when I say this is my favorite train all the time. This train also has downside. Not that big, but if you don't like to be in a crowd, you will hate this. Yes. In some rushing time like weekend, national day, the other holiday this train could be as crowded as hell (nah just kidding Ive never been to hell before) but really, in Chinese proverb, they call it 人山人海 (Rén shān rén hǎi), People Mountain, People Sea. Means it's a very crowded place, so many people like the mountain and the sea. Really? But still, even though it somehow crowded this train is worth to use!.

So guys that's all about today's post. If you have any suggestion, question or even some advice you can simply comment down bellow or email me on monicasitompul17@gmail.com. Don't forget to follow my instagram @monicasitompul17. See you and have a good day <3

Tips Google Adsense Indonesia Frankenranma

Tips Google Adsense Indonesia Frankenranma

Tips Google Adsense Indonesia Frankenranma

Tips Google Adsense Indonesia Frankenranma
Langkah-langkah verifikasi Address

Sekian cerita saya tentang Verifikasi alamat.

China Lays

Living in China means get a lot of opportunity to try new things; especially the food. Of course there are so many kind of food in here started from light dishes until the heavy dishes as well. Well, from now on i'm not gonna talk about it. I'm interested to try some of the variant of LAYS that are not available in Indonesia, (AND YES, THIS IS A GABUT POST ayee). Since this post is not sponsored, im not gonna like persuade you to buy these kind of Lays hehehe. Here im just gonna give you my preference of Lays in China. Does it taste better? or just the same?...
So.. without any further do, lets just review it!

Note: Basically all of the Lays variants that im going to taste is not chosen by me. I told my friend, Em (Credit for him to indirectly help me making this post) to buy me some Lays in the Supermarket with all different flavors and he picked Roasted Chicken Wings flavor, Fried Crab flavor, Italian Red Meat Flavor, and last but not least, Grilled Pork flavor...

Roasted Chicken Wings

China Lays

So the first variant that i taste is Roasted Chicken wings. The time that i opened the packaging, i already can smell the essential of the chicken calling to be eaten. Its wave shaped chips, and of course covered by the thick seasoning, just like the other Lays Chip. I never tasted this flavor before, but i think the smell is familiar. Okay time to taste it.  *crunch crunch* Wow............. i think i've ever tasted this before! its not only the aroma but also the taste of the seasoning. I think its almost the same like chicken flavor in Indonesia, and maybe there's no different at all. Only the seasoning's taste is getting stronger.

Rate: 7.5/10

Fried Crab

China Lays

China Lays
Next flavor... Fried Crab. I rarely eat any kind of food with crab flavor because i think crab seasoning is kinda have a weird taste. But for this one, think its worth to try, right?. I like the packaging. The color is simple and eye catching. Opening the packaging, its also smell familiar!. In my opinion, this chips smell like Seaweed flavor. The seasoning is as thick as the other, and this one is not wave shaped chips. Now time to eat the chips. The taste is very fishy... a little bit same like seaweed but with more and strong taste of seafood. I personally not a seafood person and this kind of taste is not my cup of tea. I don't really like fishy food and in my conclusion, i don't really like this one. But if you like seafood, this might be one of the food that you want to try tho...
Rate: 7/10

Italian Red Meat

China Lays

China Lays
This one is somehow attracted me, but i don't know why. I guess it somehow because of the picture of the packaging. Look at the red meat tho.... Its calling the worm on my belly. I like some kinds of meat, and Italian red meat is one of the list. I once tasted it as one of the pasta menu, and it did taste super fantastic. And let's see, does it work the same with this chips. So... here we go again. opened up the package, and i already can smell the crispiness of the meat. The seasoning, again is covering the chips all over the place. I like the smell. It has its own characteristic of smell, maybe somehow like the pasta i ate. Now time to eat. The taste is yummy. I'm not gonna say i like this so much, but this is kinda different than the other. the meat flavor is strong, but there is also another taste that i cannot explain. Maybe u guys should taste it yourself? :)

Rate: 8.5/10

Grilled Pork

China Lays

China LaysLast but not least, Grilled Pork Flavor. This is a non-halal food guys so for all my Muslim friends, you should not eat this, or maybe read this..
So it is a wave shaped chip. And the smell...... is so porky!. I like pork and this could be one of the things that I've been dying to try. So move to the taste. Yes, guys. Without trying to exaggerate things, this one is amazing!!! The pork does taste so strong. It's like im not only eating a bag of chips but also a bag of pork. Don't wanna talk to much but this one is good, but still; too much will make you feel nauseated.

Rate: 9/10

So that's all my review for China Lay's. My favorite one is of course, Grilled Pork and followed by the Italian Red meat. Actually there are still plenty of Lay's flavor that i haven't tried and still looking forward to find some spare time to try it, so maybe im gonna update more for this post later. If you guys have any suggestion of other flavor to try, or maybe what flavor do you like, just simply comment down bellow. And again guys, this post was made because im extremely bored and have nothing to do... End of the post, have a nice day. :)

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma

After being left for like forever, i decided to come back to my blog sweet blog. Oh yeah, where is my manner not saying hello to all my dearest reader? Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Im so glad that i still got the chance to write on my blog, since we all know that we cannot access Blogger in China and THANKS a lot to my mate who introduces me to this thing called VPN. You help me a lot, to be honest. Okay sorry for talking to much, lets just cut the shit and continue to my small trip to Fuzimiao.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma
Lingxing Gate (棂星门)

Nanjing Fuzimiao (夫子庙) is located in 秦虹路1号 Confucius Temple Scenic Area Pedestrian Street, Qinhuai, Nanjing. From my dorm i use Metro from CPU station, taking line 1, for further information i put the map below. Nanjing Fuzimiao is actually a shopping market packed with the historic buildings surrounding the Confucius Temple, Fuzimiao.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma
Qinhuai River and I

This place has a very beautiful scenery; ethnicity, cultural and also modern style are rolled all in one. In this place i find so many cultural object like Confucius Temple, that is Fuzimiao itself, a buch of street market that sell so many things like handcrafts, traditional stuffs, clothes, traditional foods, and even modern cafe like Starbucks!. There was also a Great Spirit Screen (大照壁) decorated with Dragon and become one of the popular place to take picture, and also Qinhuai River. This river is also one of the most popular place in Fuzimiao especially when you go at night because there will be so colorful and the scenery become more and more beautiful. We can also enjoy night ride with boat to see all the beautiful view over the riverside.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma
Great Spirit Screen (大照壁) decorated with Dragon

I discover a lot of things here, including World Wonder Art Museum but i decided to not enter the museum due to the limited time. At the time this place was so crowded, and it can be more crowded on holiday and national day because Chinese people love to spend their holiday more in public place rather than only staying at their apartment.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma

For me, This place is a very interesting place to visit. When you visit Nanjing, don't forget to visit Fuzimiao because this place is one of the most important destination and also, this place has a lot interesting spot not only for taking pictures but to learn more about China. This place is better be visited at night in my opinion because you can see all the colorful, beautiful and shimmering lights all around the place. Even though this place is somehow more crowded at night, i think it still worth to visit. That's all about my small trip to Fuzimiao, if you have any question related to my blog today, or maybe a personal question you can just hit me on my email monicasitompul17@gmail.com or just simply comment on this post. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day!

After living in Yogyakarta for more than five years, i finally got the chance to visit this art fair, that
held once a year contemporary called Arjog. Theme for this year is Arts in Common, started from July 25th till August 25th, and located in Jogja National Museum, Jl. Ki Amri Yahya, no. 1, Yogyakarta. It's quite far from the city, but still worth to visit.

I came here with my dearest sister, brother and of course, my boyfriend :). The entrance tiket is Rp. 50,000/person and we can already enjoy all the place inside this building. There are 3 floors in total. We decided to go for the 3rd floor first, so at the end when we already reach the first floor we can directly walk to the exit door that located also on the first floor.

To be honest i cannot really tell what is the different between each floor, and i personally think there are no categories given for the art and where they located so in conclusion, all the floor is just the same. They put the arts randomly. (or if i made any mistake you may comment bellow).

I heard from several sources that there will be around 40 artist from Indonesia and even another countries like Australia, Philippine and Singapore that participate in this art fair. There are so many arts and of course, each art has its own meaning. Shame on me, i was not really pay attention for what's the meaning of it, and was only focus about taking pictures. That's why if you ask me, i'm not gonna talk about the essence of the art. Yup. This time, shame on me.

But, Even though i did not really pay attention to the essence of the art, i still have my favorite art tho. Mine is this spot, where me and my boyfriend took picture together. This is some kind like hanging-tribal cloth that was put in the middle. That's why this art is somehow outstanding. Even though from now on im still somehow upset for my self because i don't know what is the essential of this art, im still looking forward to find the answer as soon as possible.

An artist is someone who produces things that people don’t need to have but that he – for some reason – thinks it would be a good idea to give them. Andy Warhol

At the end of artjog you will find an exit door made by bamboo, and again, as usual, it also created as an art, make us become harder to leave it because once you go out, you can't go in (unless you want to pay again and start from the beginning). After passing through the Bamboo exit hallway (or whatever it is because i tbh don't really know what it is) there was a small exhibition, selling artsy stuff like bag, books, clothes, accessories and many more.

For me, art is an art. there's no such thing as bad in art. Its all made by creativity, idea, and imagination that not everybody can do. That's what make all arts are beautiful. I personally happy to come to this place even though i missed some of the important point of the art, and hope to get another chance to visit the next Artjog as soon as possible. Sayonara!

RS2019.

Quoting the article from mind Shave—We came out of the womb in tears. Gasping for breath and begging to be held by someone—anyone. It’s the first time we’ve inhaled air in our lungs, doctors would say. Crying is normal, and when we don’t our mother will panics. The room will hold their breaths for the first shriek. Everyone knows a healthy baby cries.

But clearly this is different when we are starting to grow and entering the next stage of life called adulthood. When you cry, it means something. Whether you’re happy, sad, disappointed, or even scared of something.

In some stressful week, sadness came towards me. It was indeed eventually gone, but in a very uncomfortable way. It could be hours, days, and even weeks. I was losing my motivation to study, socialize, and even to perform simple tasks. I prefer bed and laying down all day long, doing nothing but over-thinking. This has been a habit and of course, hard to be change.

Why, if you ask?

I'm experiencing Emotional exhaustion.

So basically, emotional exhaustion is a term that arise when someone experiences a period of excessive stress in his/her life.
When people experience emotional exhaustion, it can make them feel emotionally drained, overwhelmed, and fatigued. These feelings tend to build up over a long period, though people may not notice the early warning signs.

Lately i found my self thinking.

“How am i going to end this sad feeling because it feels terrible, and also kills me slowly.”

Sometimes the pain lingers in my chest and it ripped my heart in a very bad way. I really wish this was not happening to me and sometimes the only way to overcome it was by telling my friends and asked for support. It really worked to reduce the pain even though it still somehow stuck in my heart

Being sad is an art form, a melody, a dance. The trick is to keep it moving, viscous and flowing, lest it freeze solid. —Usher Syndrome

It means, we have to make it balance, Whilst in sadness we have to keep moving but not too rush like running in a heavy fire, but also, not too slow and sink into it.

I am sad, getting better and sad again, but I did not cry anyway. This sadness come and put me down; not because I was hurt, heartbroke, or because I was afraid of something in particular, but mainly because I felt like it. It’s a way for the body to be at peace.

Anybody can experience emotional exhaustion, especially if they live with long-term stress or if they have recently experienced a significant change in their lives. So please, if you meet someone whose just experiencing emotional exhaustion, just hug them instead of judging. Show them how the world works with its own way, give support and most importantly, listen to them. It is better than giving any judgment that doesn't even give any solution. By doing that, you are indirectly participated to save someone's life.

All right received.

Isn't it weird to eat exactly the same food for five or more times in a row?
Well, indeed it is weird if you don't have your kind of cup of tea of food.
In the book The Omnivorous Mind (Harvard Univ. Press, 2012) and in other writings, the author has argued that we humans each have a "theory of food" that guides how, how much, and what we eat. This theory of food is analogous to "theory of mind," the suite of implicit cognitive skills that people use to negotiate the complex, interactive human social universe. (Read more here)

I do have it. that's why i ask you that kind of rhetoric question in today's post's intro.

.Fruit Salad.

It actually begun a couple months ago, when i was still on my third semester of uni life. At the moment one of my friend offered me a fruit salad, which is now becoming one of my favorite food all the time.

I tasted it. Okay, that was kinda weird at the first because it never comes in my mind to mix fruits with Yogurt, mayonnaise and Cheese. My brain still rejected it. But after i put this colorful thing into my mind, it all changed!

I like this kind of thing. At the time i was only like ordered it once a week from my friend, but it all get worst when i stop. The end of semester meant the end of hanging out together with my uni friends, and that also means that my friend was no longer selling her fruit salad.

i desperately missed it, like really missed it. I somehow ordered this kind of fruit salad online, but it did not taste good. The salad i ordered was not as creamy, yummy and delicious as i expected. Plus, its a pricey one! That wasn't worth it tho.

Then, one sunny day; due to the demand that i desperately planted in my hunger mind, i decided to make my own fruit salad. I bought such all the ingredients and started my experiment.

GUESS what. It worked. I was so happy. I bought the ingredients in a huge amount because i was thinking to take revenge to my self; i am going to eat all of this shit as much as i can every day. Yes and i finally did that. I eat fruit salad every day. for Lunch, dinner, repeat. I never skipped even once.

And you must know what happen next.
Have you heard this question before:

"What did you eat so much until you hate it?"

It doesn't make sense to me at the first until i experience it my self. Yeah. I started to hate fruit salad. It was only 5 days to made me hate this thing. i ate it but it taste horrid. really really horrid. I really want to eat something else beside fruit salad but i couldn't because that would be food waste.

Finally, I finished to eat all of the fruit salads that i made. But since then, I can’t look at Fruit Salad the same way I used to. Not to deny that I still remember extremely well how much I liked them.
The moral of this experience is, too much isn't good. You might like something like crazy, but also remember that being addicted is not that good. It might seems fun at the beginning until it makes you sacrifice. This is my story for the beginning of the year. If you have some kind of experience like that, feel free to share it here. Have a great day!
