Fakta Menarik Tentang China🇨🇳 - Journal of the Week
Tuesday, May 19, 2020 4 Comments

Fakta Menarik Tentang Cina - Monica Maharani Sitompul | Rsjournal

1. China Is Not That Dirty

Walau agamanya sudah paling benar, tapi kalau memang karaktermu dan atitude nya jelek dan tidak ada kemauan untuk berubah, we're all just become the same, right?

6. Tiap Keluarga Hanya Boleh Memiliki Satu Anak

人山人海 merupakan sebuah pepatah yang sering kali didengar ketika berada di China yang artinya people mountain people sea, sangat ramai.

Fakta Menarik Tentang Cina - Monica Maharani Sitompul | Rsjournal

Thank you for reading this blog and have a good day❤️✨

First Time Sewa Apartemen di Nanjing, China - Journey of The Week
Happy reading😻

After a long consideration between returning to Indonesia or staying in Nanjing, finally me and the two of my friends decided to immediately return to Indonesia. There were many considerations that made us agree to go home soon:
  • The virus has spread more and more, we are afraid that if we don't return soon, we will not be allowed to return to Indonesia over time
  • Issue that flights from China will soon be canceled in several countries such as Singapore and Thailand
  • Issue that China will soon lockdown their country (No flight allowed)
  • Our Class schedule postponed
  • Ticket prices are getting more expensive day by day.

Finally we bought tickets for the night flight on January 28, estimated 18 hours trip using Thai Lion airline. Stop-over point at Thailand for 12 hours, of course.

At that time the ticket price we got was RMB 2,210 (about 4.5 million rupiah) without luggage, only a 7kg cabin. It's really expensive for an economy class flight, because normal ticket for Nanjing - Jakarta is usually only in the price range of 2 million to a max of 3 million. But for the sake of our mutual safety, a little loss isn't really a matter as long as it's safe.

At 18.00 PM Nanjing time, my friends and I started on the way to the airport, Lukou International Airport, Nanjing. Our flight will be at 12.00 AM, but because the airport is far away from our apartment and we don't know much about the current departure system, we finally decided to leave as soon as possible.

Everyone is wearing mask at the airport. The mask we use is N90, a respiratory mask. At the entrance we were checked using a thermal gun. At that time I was in good health, but because of my paranoia I was very nervous, afraid that my body temperature would suddenly rise and I couldn't enter the airport, that's just what it was :(

Back to Indonesia 🇲🇨 - Rsjournal

After waiting for few hours, we finally checked in. Surprisingly, there are so many Indonesians😆. We thought it was just the three of us leaving at the time. It turned out to be a lot and not just us. Students from other university also flocked to their hometowns. At that time, my two friends and I were immediately happy because we had lots of friends, so we weren't afraid to get lost and just followed where they went.

Health Quarantine

Tbh, I'm a little scared and nervous because I'm traveling long distances, the transit in Thailand is also quite long, especially since we're from China. Fear of being labeled as carrying a disease or whatever they are called. That's why my friends and I were so routinely spraying hand sanitizer, every time after holding something, we spray spray spray here and there. Huh this is what we called paranoid, right?

At Nanjing airport, we went through several stages of checking. Thermal tests several times and a statement letter that we had never traveled to Wuhan in the near time, then later the letter was handed over to the Health Quarantine section. When you successfully pass the health quarantine, it means that you are safe and you are allowed to depart.

Back to Indonesia 🇲🇨 - Rsjournal

Praise God, we got the flight that transited in Bangkok only about 12 hours. Some of our friends got transit up to 20 hours🤯 . Fear will still arise because this is the first time this virus appears so we still don't understand how it spreads. But grateful that we were able to arrive in Indonesia safely. Thanks God💋.

Back to Indonesia 🇲🇨 - Rsjournal

Actually, if you think about it, the protocols carried out in China, Thailand and several countries in Southeast Asia are the safest, everyone is required to wear a mask, maintain cleanliness, use hand sanitizer and not allowed to touch things carelessly. Simple things that are trivial right?

This is one of the reasons why the spread of the virus in China can quickly recover, because they are very attentive to health protocols and do not ignore government advice.

Maybe Indonesia should learn more from countries that have succeeded in reducing the spread of the virus, considering that currently Indonesia is the number 1 country in Southeast Asia with the highest number of patients infected with the corona virus, which has reached 40 thousand more infected patients. Get well soon, my Indonesia, I hope that people who are still joking and wandering incoherently here and there and ignoring the protocols in this pandemic situation can immediately open their eyes so that they could immediately stop their ridiculous behavior.

First Time Sewa Apartemen di Nanjing, China - Journey of The Week

Pengalaman Sewa Apartemen di Nanjing, Cina - Journey of The Week

Nihao, friends!

Akhirnya kami berusaha lagi mencari jalan lain tidak Hanya lewat app namun juga kontak langsung, dibantu teman saya yang jago mandarin, credits for both of you Jack Learn and Dian.

Pengalaman Sewa Apartemen di Nanjing, Cina - Journey of The Week
Agen pencari Apartment Deyou
Cara lainnya, kami Menggunakan Deyou.

Pengalaman Sewa Apartemen di Nanjing, Cina - Journey of The Week

Oh iya, nama apartment nya 武夷名仕园, yang artinya Wuyi Famous Official Garden.

Puas akan pelayanan Agen? ya Karena Akhirnya Kami punya tempat tinggal selama liburan. Sebuah apartement 4 kamar Untuk 8 orang, 2 kamar mandi, wifi, heater, tv, mesin cuci, water heater dll. Lumayan lah Untuk tinggal 1.5 bulan.

Soal harga? Mahal. Berikut saya beri rincian harga.

  1. Deposit : 3000 RMB (wajib dibayar, berfungsi seperti jaminan kalau terjadi sesuatu Dengan rumahnya, tapi bakalan dikembaliin minus uang listrik).
  2. Sewa apartment 1.5 bulan: 5500 RMB
  3. Biaya Agen: 1200 RMB
Total: 9700 RMB = Rp. 20,370,000 Untuk 1.5 bulan.

Line Cafe, Nanjing

Line Cafe, Nanjing - rsjournal
Line Cafe, Nanjing

One more funny thing that I found about China: Even though China strict all the access of social media from another country and use only China platform, I think they still give concession to the citizen to allow at least some entertainment like directly mentioned, Line Cafe. When my friend told me that we have Line Cafe in Nanjing, I was so surprised yet excited because as far as I know, we cannot access Line in Nanjing. Then, how the hell people' suppose to know the existence of this thing if they cannot even access it? does this place was made for all the tourist who visits Nanjing? Well that's maybe right but who knows anyway?..

--LOCATION--

Line Cafe, Nanjing located in Beijing East Road, Xuanwu District, Nanjing City, in Catherine Square. Or if you confused, you may check the map below.

When you want to take Metro as your transportation just like me, means that you should stop on the Gulou Station (鼓楼站) line 1 exit 4B, and then have a little walk to Catherine Park.

Line Cafe, Nanjing-China. Monica Maharani Sitompul.
Catherine Park, Right beside Line Cafe

--What's Inside the Cafe--

Like the Name of the cafe, the concept is about Line. When you come inside the cafe you will be welcomed by all the characters on Line, such as James, Big Brown, Cony, and many more. The place is quite big, and has a lot of different spot.

This cafe serve a lot of foods and beverages, mostly fast-food that quite expensive, but worth enough when you eat it while enjoying the euphoria of happiness. Too bad at the time I did not order any food or drink at all because I already ate, and i was in hurry. I visited on Sunday, that's why that place was a lil bit crowded.

Line Cafe, Nanjing-China. Monica Maharani Sitompul. Line Cafe, Nanjing-China. Monica Maharani Sitompul.

not only serving food and beverages, this cafe is also sell Line official merchandise such as keychain, pillow, doll, passport case, shirt, mug, and many more. I guarantee you that all of these official merchandise are cute and authentic! And, for the good news to all K-pop lovers, they also sell official merchandise of BT21!!!

The price? yes it is somehow pricey. Let's take passport case, small stuff for example. The price of the basic passport case is for like RMB 99, or around $14.13 and Rp. 198,797. Why so pricey? because you cannot find this such official merch in other place, these merch are all official and limited edition. Maybe that's also one of their market strategy lol.

BT21 Merchandise!

Thought? This is surely one of the list of places that you have to visit for having some fun, chilling out, and before i forget to mention, to take some good pictures on this cafe because this cafe has a lot of good spot to take pictures.

That's all about my short visit to Line Cafe. If you guys have any question, suggestion or maybe advice about this post you can just simply comment bellow or email me on monicasitompul17@gmail.com. Also don't forget to follow my instagram account @monicasitompul17 and have a good day! Send all loves and kisses from me, see ya on another post.

Journey of the Week #6 - Nanjing Fuzimiao (夫子庙)

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma

After being left for like forever, i decided to come back to my blog sweet blog. Oh yeah, where is my manner not saying hello to all my dearest reader? Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Im so glad that i still got the chance to write on my blog, since we all know that we cannot access Blogger in China and THANKS a lot to my mate who introduces me to this thing called VPN. You help me a lot, to be honest. Okay sorry for talking to much, lets just cut the shit and continue to my small trip to Fuzimiao.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma
Lingxing Gate (棂星门)

Nanjing Fuzimiao (夫子庙) is located in 秦虹路1号 Confucius Temple Scenic Area Pedestrian Street, Qinhuai, Nanjing. From my dorm i use Metro from CPU station, taking line 1, for further information i put the map below. Nanjing Fuzimiao is actually a shopping market packed with the historic buildings surrounding the Confucius Temple, Fuzimiao.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma
Qinhuai River and I

This place has a very beautiful scenery; ethnicity, cultural and also modern style are rolled all in one. In this place i find so many cultural object like Confucius Temple, that is Fuzimiao itself, a buch of street market that sell so many things like handcrafts, traditional stuffs, clothes, traditional foods, and even modern cafe like Starbucks!. There was also a Great Spirit Screen (大照壁) decorated with Dragon and become one of the popular place to take picture, and also Qinhuai River. This river is also one of the most popular place in Fuzimiao especially when you go at night because there will be so colorful and the scenery become more and more beautiful. We can also enjoy night ride with boat to see all the beautiful view over the riverside.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma
Great Spirit Screen (大照壁) decorated with Dragon

I discover a lot of things here, including World Wonder Art Museum but i decided to not enter the museum due to the limited time. At the time this place was so crowded, and it can be more crowded on holiday and national day because Chinese people love to spend their holiday more in public place rather than only staying at their apartment.

Nanjing Fuzimiao - Frankenranma

For me, This place is a very interesting place to visit. When you visit Nanjing, don't forget to visit Fuzimiao because this place is one of the most important destination and also, this place has a lot interesting spot not only for taking pictures but to learn more about China. This place is better be visited at night in my opinion because you can see all the colorful, beautiful and shimmering lights all around the place. Even though this place is somehow more crowded at night, i think it still worth to visit. That's all about my small trip to Fuzimiao, if you have any question related to my blog today, or maybe a personal question you can just hit me on my email monicasitompul17@gmail.com or just simply comment on this post. Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Kebun Buah Mangunan - Journey of the Week

Kebun Buah Mangunan - Frankenranma

I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people. I thought, 'This is what it is to be happy.'
—Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

Sunrise seeking is On the mode!
One more adventure with my Atma Jaya new friends today. We are planning to catch the sunrise in Kebun Buah Mangunan, located in Jl. Imogiri - Dlingo, Sukorame, Mangunan, Dlingo, Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta or for the spesific one and to make it easier, i put the map here.

Honestly at the very very beginning, i don't feel like to go because i don't really know any of these guys and one of my close friend is not going too. But, because i appreciate their invitation for me and i also already make a promise to go with them, i finally change my mind and go.

I get picked up at 4 AM in the morning and directly go to another friends' house to pick them. We use motorcycle because these guys say that riding motorcycle is way more faster, and they can also enjoy the trip more intent. We literally go to our destination at 4.30 AM and in our way, sadly i can already see the sunrise. Woops, is this real? like i never get the chance to see sunrise. Sun, do you hate me or something?

 Kebun Buah Mangunan - Frankenranma

Arrived at our first destination. The view is pretty dang good, but honestly i prefer the one on the photo. The camouflage of technology nowadays make everything looks so damn gorgeous in the picture instead of the real one. I know, expectation is not as the same as reality but we thank God because we still get the chance to see this spectacular view.

Unfortunately, the sun is already shining and our first mission is failed. Second, there are so many people that want to chase the sunrise also and that explain why this place is so crowded.
The tips for you if you want to get a good instagramable picture are first, you have to be patient. You will get your turn to take picts eventually. Second, never let any opportunity. If you see an empty spot even though its just a small one, just go there and im sure 100% that it will expand as the time goes by.

Kebun Buah Mangunan - Frankenranma

And yes, where is my manner? Before we go further, im going to introduce you my new chinggu. At first it was my classmate that introduce me to these bunch of guys, and also because we are at the same organization, HMPSM and some of them are on the same work project with me.

There are 7 motorcycles in this gang, the first is me and Andrew, the guy who match the words 'still water run deep'. We've just talk to each other this early morning and it just feels like i already know him for a couple weeks; deep conversation broh! super cool. Then, the second is Ibach and Kepong. Ibach is my classmate that introduces me to all of these guys. Thank You ibach! and also Kepong, the hypebeast one that is on the same division as me, DKV. Third place we got Audrie and Tia. Audrie is the craziest one. He get called 'Tukang kompor' and toxic people and these fit his personality. Also Tia, the girl that i also just met but i can tell that she's fun. She knows how to blend in. The fourth is my Om Swastiastu friends, Bagus and Adi a.k.a WINTERRR. I call him winter because his outfit looks like he's going to antartika or in other words, he wears the wrong dresscode for this trip lol. But both of these bli are fun, really fun. Do all balinesse are fun like this? They both are like comedian in this lil Group. The fifth is the lovebirds a.k.a Banu and Gita! they are just a couple who fails to see how beautiful sun is when its rising lol, but at least they are trying, right?. The last but not least we got solo candidates named Dani a.k.a Zuko, and Titan. Dani gets called as Zuko because there was a moment when he drunk, unwear his glasses and showed his red eyes, like he's going to throw some fire from it haha. And Titan seems so calm but he's funny thoo. So thats it, my new chinggu that i've just met and they are a perfect combo to start your day in an early morning like this.

Kebun Buah Mangunan - Frankenranma

Also, because we did not have a chance to take breakfast before, we decide to find a small restaurant to eat. We mostly buy indomie because the weather is perfect to eat some instant-hot noodle. We have a little chit-chat there and that is the moment that i start to figure out their own personality. Not for the specific one, but personality that can lead to who they truly are.

We still have plenty time, and that is one of the reason why we finally continue our trip to Pines Forest or in Indonesia, Hutan Pinus. Even though this is one of the list of mainstream destination, we're here to enjoy the view, and the moment. Thank you chingu for adding more colors in my day. This is exactly the trip that i personally would never forget in my life. Togetherness, bad and good times, thank you for giving me this kind of moment! Waiting for another trip to spend with you guys.

UAJY 17 SQUAD

The glitter in the sky looks as if I could scoop it all up in my hands and let the stars swirl and touch one another, but they are so distant, so very far apart, that they cannot feel the warmth of each other, even though they are made of burning.

The Lost World Castle, Jogja - Journey of the Week
Friday, November 16, 20180 Comments
The Lost World Castle Jogja | Frankenranma

Travel becomes a strategy for accumulating photographs.
— Susan Sontag

July, 26th 2018.

Today i am going to explore something new with my little cousin. We actually used to play together when we were kid, and thats why we are close to each other. She comes to Jogja to continue her study in Sanata Dharma University, Psychology major. And since we are still in our holiday mode and have plenty of spare time, we decide to make our little trip to Lost World Castle, Yogyakarta. I know, there are a lot of consideration we face before finally come to this place such as transportation and also the weather (sun shines so bright and it kills, i swear). But because we are all curious about it, we finally move our ass and go.

Lost World Castle located in Petung, Kepuharjo, Cangkringan, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Or if you confused you can just see the address through the map below.

I know it is kinda far but the location is pretty cool, far from the residential areas and the weather is not as hot as in the city. I think we are near to the Merapi mountain too, because in the Lost World Castle we can see the Merapi very clear. The entrance ticket for this castle is Rp. 25.000,00/person and we can enjoy every spot there (not including the additional property and some photobooth).

The Lost World Castle Jogja | Frankenranma
My lil Cousin, Retha.

So, the first place that you will going to see is the castle itself. The castle is quite tall and you can see some view from here, mostly trees. There are also some cool photobooth but if you want to take picture you have to spend more money. By the way, if you want to go higher, this castle is actually still have their second floor. This is pretty cool because everything seems so clear here. Its pretty i can tell. In this place you can spot every place in The Lost World Castle area.

Honestly at the first, i thought this was just a castle and there's no such an interesting thing that i can get in here. But after i go higher to second floor, that is the time when i realize that this place is not just a castle. They have more spot, not just this castle. And if you also notice, i think every spot in this place has its own art where some places could look exactly like in Japan, the other could look exactly like Greek and some other look like in the Middle east area or something. Don't u agree?

Moving to the next area, we walk on the castle that exactly looks like The Great wall of China and arrived to a very beautiful view that i assume as Japan. I get stunned for the Sakura trees, i mean where do they get that trees tho?.

From this spot we can see the whole castle clearly. If you continue your step you will actually faced a quite big hole like cliff and thats where the next spot placed. It is Pirates of Carribean spot, unfortunately when i come that place is still under the construction so i think we are a little bit too fast to come to this place. Too bad. But when you continue your step again, you will see a country spot, called Wild Wild West.

I think this place is inspired by Indiana Jones and ancient style, combined with the country lives. Here you can see some tents and also firecamp where Indian people cook their meals. Also moving to the right side of it you can spot a bunch of big-fake eggs that i believe belongs to dinosaurs. Cool, isn't it? If you want to look more country don't forget to take pictures inside the camp, or with the fake horse in front of the entrance.

We kinda tired so we decide to go back home. So when you want to come back home you will see the view that looks like Middle east style or Aladin style from my point of view. Even though The Lost World Castle located far from the city and still need some improvement, this place is worth to visit because we only need to pay 25k and we get to see all the beautiful views here.

Keep things on your trip in perspective, and you'll be amazed at the perspective you gain on things back home while you're away...One's little world is put into perspective by the bigger world out there.
